.mail General FAQ
.mail is one of the new proposed generic top-level domains (gTLD). The plans for .mail are to create a new radical e-mail verification system that begins with the creation of .mail.
.mail would attempt to reduce the spam problem with the intention of eliminating the ability of hackers and spammers to hide behind the anonymity of an email. Currently spammers have the power of sending out e-mails that appear to be coming cpr144449003101 from legitimate companies such PayPal or EBay. .mail would change that because obtaining a .mail domain would require additional requirements and security procedures. .mail is being proposed by the Spamhaus Project, a well known company that tracks e-mail spammers and spam-related activity.
