Montserrat is a British Overseas Territory in the Lesser Antilles in the West Indies. It is known as the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean for its resemblance to the coast of Ireland and the Irish ancestry of some of its cpr144449003101 inhabitants. It has an estimated population of approximately 6000 people and the official language is English. At this point, the Montserrat economy is effectively on hold as a result of Hurricane Hugo and the eruption of the Soufriere Hills Volcano.
