.alsace FAQ

Any natural or legal person (e.g. corporation) may register or use a .alsace domain name with the condition that this person is able to demonstrate ties to Alsace at the time of registration and during the life of the domain name. No documents or proof is required at the time of registration. The registry reserves, at its sole discretion, the right to ask a domain name holder to provide demonstration of their ties. Acceptable demonstration includes:

• Reside in Alsace, or,
• Carry out professional, personal, commercial, or cultural activities, or
• Substantiate any other direct or indirect attachment with Alsace (economic, social, cultural, historical, or other).

Failure to provide acceptable demonstration of ties may result in deletion of domain name.

Some domain names may be permanently or temporarily reserved or restricted for registry operations, as premium domain names or to comply with ICANN requirements.

To comply with ICANN requirements, all two-character domains shall be initially reserved, however may be released in the future. In addition reserved names for a) International Olympic Committee, b) International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and c) Intergovernmental Organizations, for new gTLDs., are not available in accordance with ICANN.
